Just a quick update before the weekend:

 

1Undread will be featured in the next Chewstick Foundation Griot Session tonight at 8pm and will also feature opening act Alan C. Smith, with the performance being streamed live at www.chewstick.org. Doors open at 7pm and the after-party with DJ RetoxXx will go on until around 1am. To promote family fun, knowledge of Devonshire, and to introduce you to your council members, the Devonshire Parish Council will hosting a free Scavenger Hunt on Friday, July 27th.  The fun starts at 6.30pm on Fridayat Christ Church Devonshire on Middle Road and will finish at the same place, with prizes for the winning team. The Hunt will encompass the Devonshire Parish area only but you’ll need transportation to get around and a team with 4 members.  To register, email your team name and members to devonshire_council@hotmail.com or collect a registration form from the Devonshire Post Office – here’s the flyer!

 

It looks like UberVida will be working overtime as they are offering a whole host of Cup Match parties this year.  The first is the Wet T Water Balloon Fete on Wednesday, August 1st, with the boat departing Front Street at 11.59pm, returning at 4am, and will include 600 water balloons plus super soakers – I guess they think that might not be enough as they invite you to bring your own as well!?  Tickets are $30, including 2 drink tickets and are available from www.ptix.bm – here’s the flyer!

 

 

There’s no point in wasting time sleeping over Cup Match weekend so you might as well attend their Dusk til Dawn Rave on Friday, August 3rd.  The UberVida will be anchored near Rockaway Ferry Dock from 10pm until dawn, with water taxis departing Rockaway every hour on the hour.  Tickets will be $20 in advance from www.ptix.bm and the price at the gate will increase by $10 every hour, up to a maximum price of $50 – here’s the flyer!

 

 

UberVida are also offering a Cup Match daytrip on Saturday, August 4th, with different options, depending on how active you want to be – Dive Snorkel Suntan will depart Front Street at 2pm, taking you out to North Rock and returning at 8pm.  The price includes a full buffet and costs $85 for suntanners and kids and $105 for snorkelers and divers (limited number of divers, must be certified).   Snorkeling gear, dive tanks, weights, and all other equipment are available for rent ( must be pre-ordered) and there will be a full cash bar. Don’t have a boat for the Non-Mariners Raft-up yet?  UberVida will depart Front Street at 10am on Sunday, August 5th, returning at 6pm, with a variety of music in between as different DJs, artists and performers pass through.  The cost is $150, which includes an open bar and BBQ.  If you don’t want to be on the boat the whole day, they are also offering a vistor pass at a cost of $50, which lasts for 2 hours (strictly enforced) and entitles the holder to the open bar and BBQ.  Tickets are available from www.ptix.bm – here’s the flyer!
